I have to admit as I'm not familiar enough with leaf hoppers, tree hoppers and plant hoppers, my brain just calls them all leaf or tree hoppers. ;-)

Leaf hoppers seem to be pretty small. This was not. So over 25 mm long. Presumably more likely a plant hopper just based on size. The wings were sitting flat rather than vertically as on some of the hoppers.
